Abstract Submission
Guidelines for Authors
Given that the abstracts will be reproduced in the Book of Abstracts exactly in the form they are submitted, authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guidelines.
- The abstract should not exceed 250 words. The font must be "Tahoma" size 10 cpi and fully justified.
- The title of the abstract should be typed in upper case.
- Authors' names should be typed in title case, the first name preceding the last name (written in full).
- The name of presenting author should be in bold (i.e. John Smith).
- Authors' affiliation(s), city and country should be typed in title case. Authors' names should feature in ascending order corresponding to their affiliation(s):
e.g. John Smith 1, Bower Jack 2
1. King's College Hospital, London
2. Kaiser Medical Center, San Francisco, California, USA - Single line spacing should be applied between title, authors and author's affiliations.
- It is recommended that the abstract is structured as follows:
- Introduction
- Aim
- Material
- Results
- Conclusions
- The above titles should be written in Title Case and in bold.
- Standard abbreviations as well as tables and diagrams can be used as long as they do not exceed the prescribed text margins and overall should not be more than 250 words.
- Changes, additions or corrections will not be accepted after the abstract submission.
- Abstracts having insufficient data or including phrases such as "the conclusions are to be discussed" or "the evidence will be presented" etc. will not be accepted.
- The topic as well as the desired presentation type, oral or poster presentation should be selected in the abstract submission form.
Submission Procedure
You may submit your abstract according to the abstract submission guidelines the latest by July 28st, 2008 as follows:

By e-mail
You may submit your abstract by e-mail at 3rd-BCO-scientific@acnc.gr. The e-mail should include the following attachments:
- The completed Abstract Submission Form which can be downloaded from the congress web site http://www.3rd- BCO.com
- The text of your abstract, in Word format, which must include the title, the author(s), as well as the affiliation(s), according to guidelines.
General Information
- Abstracts submitted after July 28st, 2008 will not be accepted.
- Abstracts should be originals. They should not have been published either completely or partially in local or international journals.
- The Congress Organiser will send a confirmation by e-mail, within five (5) working days after receiving the abstract. Should you not receive the confirmation in due time, please contact the Congress Organiser.
- The Scientific Committee of the Congress will decide the type of presentation of each abstract (oral or poster presentation).
- Presenting authors will be informed on the status of their abstract (accepted - rejected) on August 11, 2008, through the corresponding person's e-mail (if other than the presenting author).
- In order to submit abstract, at least the presenting author has to be registered for the Congress.
- In case the same author presents more than one abstracts, one of the co-authors should be registered additionally for each other abstract.
- All abstracts will be included in the Book of Abstracts.
- All presenting authors should visit the congress website for information on the date and type of their presentation after September 8, 2008.
Abstracts submitted by fax will not be accepted
